about

"Jose María Lluch has been developing a hidden, solitary, parallel work alongside his activity in Grande Days, accumulated in a series of home recordings that until 2018 only constituted a personal archive of experiments, searches, and findings. It is then, as a result of Grande Days' collaboration with Xabier Erkizia on "Mirande," that the latter proposes recording a solo album to give rise to this wonderful legacy. Thus begins a fruitful sonic epistolary relationship between them that over 6 years has been shaping and weaving those small patches into, for now, two beautiful pieces of celestial ambient, of a scope, depth, and emotion much more intense and prolonged than their little over 30 minutes might initially suggest.
Based on field recordings delicately intertwined with guitar textures and magnetic tape manipulations, Lluch's stylistic references evoke the memory of a distant storm that we hear sheltered, delighting and focusing solely on the beauty of its sound. Perhaps it reminds me of the exquisite recordings from labels like Kranky Records in the '90s and early 2000s, when post-rock was still the promise of an exciting future full of possibilities. But it's just a faint glimpse glimpsed through the fog. It is preferable to delve in, let oneself be enveloped, and enjoy it for oneself. A small gem to which I hope there will be continuity."
